This is an attempt to create a micronation. Currently it will only exist online. Perhaps with help, the nation could acquire an offline presence, but that is not the immediate goal. Ideally, it would be an oligarchy, or a government run by a council of a few elected individuals. Also desired are people with a more liberal or accepting mindset. I shall begin by laying out a list of things that need to happen in order of importance.
1. People to help
2. Basic Government Structure
3. Fluid Constitution-type document going into more detail on the rights of citizens and the government
4. Code of Laws
5. Other aspects of the system (social security, naturalization, government agencies, etc.)
6. Miscellaneous tidbits (flag, name, national anthem, etc.)
7. Electing officials
8. Starting up the system
9. Planning for offline mode
Any of these 9 steps may be fulfilled before another, but I believe that the order laid out will improve efficiency. It is also likely that the first of these goals may not be completed for quite a while. As no one is "in charge" right now, anyone can have a say in the makings of this nation. Revisions to the system will hopefully take into account the opinions of all of the users. However, we must all keep in mind that in politics, very few people get what they want. Everyone will have a different dream and many of the dreams will conflict.
I suppose that the main thing people are curious about is the reason this project is even occurring. Isn't the government satisfactory? I don't know where you live, but where I am, the government is corrupt and inefficient. Reform isn't good enough and even if it was possible, we'd hardly have a say in the matter. It is time to start afresh and rid ourselves of the corroded system that is hardly suited for the modern age.
I firmly believe that with enough dedication and perhaps a bit of luck, we can overcome this mess and make the world a better place. If you believe that too, or have even a small inclination to help, please do. Great ideas spawn from small places. Thank you for reading this and perhaps even joining in. You're a great person.
